New Publication

I am really happy to participate in Post—Normal Design: Emergent approaches towards plural worlds, a volume edited by Alastair Fuad-Luke for the Porto Design Biennial. The essay is called “Where Do Gardens Come From?” This text is also the basis of the video essay with the same title. More information here.

Foundry Engineering at Ecovative

I wrote a blog post explaining our work as the Foundry Engineering team at Ecovative. It has been a great experience to work with such a talented group to build a Mycelium Biomaterial Research Platform.

17th Istanbul Biennial Review

I am grateful to be included in Art Net’s review of the biennial. This edition of the biennial is certainly quite unconventional; taking many conceptual, aesthetic, and political risks. I believe it will garner a lot of attention.

Turkish readers may also enjoy Alem magazine’s interview, which allowed me to expand on the conceptual background of the work.

Museum of Digestion

My second contribution to the 17th Istanbul Biennial is a public installation at Muze Gazhane in Kadikoy.

Museum of Digestion is an interspecies reading room for the publication, Museum of Exhalation. Both pieces are extensions of my research to the Yenikapi/Langa region of Istanbul and continue my investigations started by Microbial Fruits of Istanbul and Where Do Gardens Come From?

Museum of Exhalation

I am really happy to announce that we launched a new publication as part of my contribution to the 17th Istanbul Biennial.

Museum of Exhalation is an edited volume that consists of interviews by non-humans. The book includes contributions by Nazlı Pişkin, Vedat Onar, Jake Winiski, Nazlı Arda, Aleksandar Shopov, Marisol de la Cadena, M. Namık Yalçın, Dietmar Offenhuber, Pelin Tan, Chantel White and Eda Hisarlıoğlu. Please stop by at Muze Gazhane during the biennial visit hours (Tuesday-Sunday 10AM-6PM) to grab a free copy at my installation site.

There will be a public book launch event on Sept 15th, 2PM.
